Getting my SGGR set up ready for this upcoming school. This will be my 3rd year and I think it will be a great year for SGGR. Let me show you how we did it last year and how I am improving on making it easier.
First I had my kids separated me reading level. I put a pocket chart that looks like this example up on my board:

We have 4 rotations with 4 to 6 students on each. I try to put the 5 & 6 students on my higher groups and to keep my below level groups to 4. They are my reds ( you can use any colors or I have seen symbols or animals). My groups change every 4 - 6 weeks depending on their ISIP scores.
I put the students name and number because they use their number on the second chart ( this is their class number and this makes it easier for them to use).
Next to this pocket chart I do a second chart that looks like this:

When the students see their group is on Word Work/Stations they come to see what station they are on that day. I only put number on this chart. So today if my number is 6 when my groups goes to stations I will be doing "Spelling" I usually only have one student per stations but sometimes I do 2 like (2 & 10). I use cards that shows a picture with the centers to make it easier for them. The next day I just rotate my stations down. For example everyone that did spelling monday, will do pocket chart tuesday, word work wed., listening thursday. Friday is used for testing and they can finish any that they have not done.
I try to leave the same activity but with different list, like in spelling i'll use their weekly spelling list. For pocket chart last year I used "The Big Phonics Bundle" from
Reagan Tunstall my kids loved it they reviewed the previous weeks phonics using her bundle. My stations change throughout the year and they can included compound words, syllables and etc.....
I hoped I explained our Reading Stations to you and they may be of some help. Feel free to ask questions on it.
